Accommodations for Patrons with Physical Challenges
Both the Balboa Theatre and Civic Theatre have Accessible Wheelchair Seating, restrooms and audio assistance systems. Side Orchestra Transfer Seating (swing-out arms for easy transfer from wheelchair or scooter) are available on the main floor Orchestra level, on both right and left aisles, of both the Balboa Theatre and the Civic Theatre.
ASL Interpreted and Open Captioned Performances
All Broadway San Diego regular season productions at the Civic Theatre offer ASL interpretation and Open Caption Services for designated performances, click HERE.

All levels of the Theatre are served by two lobby elevators. Dedicated Accessible Wheelchair Seating is available on the main floor Orchestra, Dress Circle and Mezzanine levels with all seats in the Orchestra section, rows AA through V, accessible via sloping walkways, no stairs. Use of the elevators, to access seats in Dress Circle (row H) and Mezzanine (row W) and Upper Loge (row H) without stairs.
All other rows in Dress Circle, Lower Loge, Mezzanine, Upper Loge and Balcony, other than those listed above, do require the use of stairs. Please contact Ticketing Services if you have specific questions regarding seating in any area.
Have a Service Animal?
Certified Service Animals & Guide Dogs Recognized California Service Animals, fully trained to provide a specific service to owner, are welcome into the Theatre. Only Service Animals will be allowed entry and must remain under owner’s control during the entire event. Companion Animals are not allowed inside the venue. For suggested seating recommendations or additional information, please contact Ticketing Services at ticketing@sandiegotheatres.org.

Accessible Restroom facilities are located on the main floor (East), Salon, Loge and Balcony levels of the Theatre. All seats in the Orchestra section, rows A through Z are accessible via sloping walkways, no stairs.

Audio assistance devices are available for guests who need audio assistance. Headsets are available on the first floor in the Guest Services area, before performances. Headsets are loaned at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis, with a valid photo ID required.
T-Coil loop devices are available for guests with T-Coil-compatible aids. Note that these devices are NOT Bluetooth compatible. Please check with Guest Services for devices.
