Celebrating Excellence in High School Musical Theatre

The Broadway San Diego Awards is now entering its 6th year and the competition is sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union, celebrating excellence in local High School musical theatre performers. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Balboa Theatre in downtown San Diego. Cash awards will be provided for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Musical Production.

Will your high school produce a musical between September 2018 and April 2019? If so, we encourage students and teachers to enter the Broadway San Diego Awards to compete to earn nominations in the categories Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Musical Production.

Our two champions (one male and one female) will then move on to represent our region at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards also known as the Jimmy Awards in New York in June 2019. There, they will meet and perform with champions from dozens of other regional competitions across the country and compete on a Broadway stage for a chance at winning $10,000 towards a college scholarship.
