ENTRY APPLICATION FOR THE 2026 BROADWAY SAN DIEGO AWARDS

The 2026 Broadway San Diego Awards Entry Application 

As the San Diego chapter of the Jimmy Awards® (National High School Musical Theatre Awards®), students that are cast in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of The Jimmy Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress, will be adjudicated in their high school production, and eligible to be nominated for The Jimmy Awards. The two finalists from the Jimmy Awards category at the Broadway San Diego Awards will join dozens of other finalists from regional competitions across the country for a 10-day (June 2026) experience called Camp Broadway, which includes rehearsals, workshops, lectures and field trips, designed to prepare the students for The Jimmy Awards®, which will be presented on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre in June 2026.

The Jimmy Awards Category

For all high schools producing a full musical in the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 semester. Adjudicators will be sent to each production and score the overall musical and eligible students that are in the qualifying roles in approved musicals, in a full-length high school production (https://www.jimmyawards.com/participation/qualifying-shows-and-roles/) – determined by the Jimmy Awards.
 
 
  • All musicals will need to be adjudicated by Friday, April 26, 2026.
  • If your musical is after this deadline, please email our Marketing Associate, Carlos Martínez, at cmartinez@BroadwaySD.com.
  • The entry fee for this category is $250 per production. Scholarships are available.

 

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

  • October 24, 2025 – Last day to enter your school for Fall semester.
  • February 27, 2026 – Last day to enter your school for Spring semester.
  • April 26, 2026 – Last day to adjudicate a performance
  • May 2, 2026 – In Person Call Backs
  • Please Note: Individual 30-minute one-on-one sessions for those who move on from callbacks will be scheduled at a later date.
  • May 18-23, 2026 – Rehearsal Week
  • May 24, 2026 – In Person The 2025 Broadway San Diego Awards Competition
  • June 22, 2026 – In Person The Jimmy Awards®
