The Broadway San Diego Awards are sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union and are a local high school musical theatre competition in which two winners will go on to represent San Diego at The National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as The Jimmy Awards, in New York this June.

High schools from all over San Diego were invited to nominate up to four students for Best Actor or Best Actress. These students then submitted audition videos where a dedicated team of adjudicators narrowed our semi-finalists down to the Top 20.

At the competition on May 29, our esteemed panel of judges and theatre professionals will select the Best Actor and Best Actress who will then move on to The Jimmy Awards in New York next month.

Our San Diego winners will join dozens of other finalists from regional competitions across the country for a week-long experience that includes rehearsals, workshops, lectures, field trips, and one-on-one coaching sessions, designed to prepare the students for The Jimmy Awards -presented on Broadway at a Nederlander Theatre.
